Usher Board
We have a tremendous Usher board here at GSBC! An usher is an officer of the church that he or she serves. There are many definitions of ushering. It could be to show into a room or to introduce or escort into a room or seat. Here at Greater Second Baptist Church, we like to focus on making the members and visitors feel comfortable and of lending spiritual dignity to the whole church service. By promptness, courtesy, tact, and unobtrusiveness, we help the pastor by promoting worship. We aim to serve the Lord Jesus, through the services rendered to humanity. Our motto is “ready to serve”, because we never know when our church may need a lending hand.
Meet the President: Debra Jones
Mrs. Jones is a graduate of Marion High School. She has been a member of Greater Second since a young age. Then, she was always pleased about helping out where she soon joined the usher board as a junior. She is married to her husband of 29 years, Cubie Jones Sr. They have three children, Troy, Cubie Jr., and Latoya. Sister Jones loves the person she has become because she fought to be her. Her Presidency over the Usher board has started, because her story is not over yet.
